Blog Hop Contest Entry

Click here for an awesome new writing contest! It is called the Blog Hop Contest. The rules are as follows:

2. Post your piece on your blog before February 1st.
Every eligible entry will have the chance to win prizes.

The contest closes soon. Below is my piece of fiction:

I awake from sleep and walk outside to the woods near me house. It’s dark and I can not find my way. I feel the flowers beneath my bare feet but can’t see where I am going. I wish for the sun to come up but that is futile. My thoughts reflect to the story of creation where God said, “Let there be light, and there was light.” I look ahead as I see the trees and flowers below me in a soft pure light. I also look and see the source, a light bulb being extended from Heaven. God has shown me the beauty that is always present day or night. Aided by a light from God, I’m guided back to my bed and lay down.

I dream of God’s light present to me in other places I’ve been in my life. In every place I see this bulb with its cord extending to Heaven. He enables me to walk in His light always.

It is then that I awake and find my self laying under the tree where I rested during my hike earlier today. The view is the same as in my dream but now illuminated by the sun positioned where the bulb had been. The light of the sun reaching to warm me with the love of God from Heaven. It is always there. God’s light never fades.
